A Playful Little White Chapel Elopement on Film in Las Vegas

Jonathan and Maria came all the way from Europe to get married in Las Vegas, and their day had the exact kind of energy I love most about elopements here. Simple, spontaneous, very romantic, and completely their own.

They started the day at Little White Chapel, with Elvis as their officiant, because honestly, if you’re going to elope in Vegas, why not fully lean into it? There was no huge production, no overly complicated timeline, no pressure to make the day feel like anything other than what it was: two people getting married in a city that makes room for the playful, the sentimental, and the slightly ridiculous in the best way.

After the ceremony, we took some photos around the chapel before heading downtown for a few more portraits. Everything felt really easy and loose, which worked so well for them. Maria is an actor, and you could feel that openness in the way she moved through the day. She and Jonathan were both so comfortable being silly, romantic, dramatic, casual, and completely in the moment. The whole gallery ended up feeling like a tiny rom-com set in Las Vegas.

That’s always one of my favorite things about photographing elopements here. Vegas gives you permission to not take the whole thing too seriously, while still letting it feel meaningful. You can have Elvis marry you, take film photos by a chapel, wander downtown, and end the day back in your hotel room at the Bellagio. Somehow, it all makes sense.

For Jonathan and Maria’s elopement, we photographed everything on 35mm film and 120 film, with 16mm video too. Film felt like the perfect fit for their day. It gave everything this soft, cinematic, slightly nostalgic feeling, especially with how natural and expressive they were together. Nothing felt stiff or overly posed. It felt more like following them through little scenes of their own movie.

We finished the session back in their room at the Bellagio, which made the whole day feel even more personal. I love when couples include spaces like that in their elopement photos. Hotel rooms can hold such a sweet in-between feeling: the dress on the bed, the post-ceremony excitement, the view outside, the quiet little moments after everything has happened.

Jonathan and Maria’s day is such a good reminder that a Las Vegas elopement doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. Sometimes the best plan is just a chapel, a little downtown wandering, a hotel room, some film cameras, and two people who are fully ready to enjoy the day.

For this elopement, we mixed a few different parts of Las Vegas into one short, easy story. Little White Chapel gave us the classic Vegas ceremony feeling. Downtown added color, signs, and a little more city energy. Their Bellagio room brought everything back to something softer and more intimate.

That combination worked so well because it felt like a real day, not just a photoshoot. A little public, a little private, a little theatrical, a little tender.
