A Little White Chapel & downtown Vegas Elopement with 80s Hong Kong Style
S and L’s Las Vegas elopement was short, simple, and honestly so special.
They first met years ago in Singapore, so they wanted their wedding photos to have a little bit of that Asian cinema feeling woven into the day. They especially loved the look of 80s Hong Kong movies, the kind of photos that feel casual, romantic, slightly moody, and straight out of a Wong Kar-wai movie.
S wore the prettiest white modern mini qipao dress, a pair of red heels, and it felt so perfect for the whole idea. A little classic, a little playful, and so personal to her. We started at Little White Chapel, where Elvis was the officiant, because it still had to be Vegas in the best way.
After the ceremony, instead of doing anything too polished or complicated, we went to a convenience store on downtown Fremont Street. They bought cup noodles, and then we photographed them eating on the street together. It was simple, funny, and sweet in a way that felt completely like them.
That little cup noodle moment ended up being my favorite part of the session. It had that 80s Hong Kong movie feeling they loved, but in the middle of Las Vegas. Not overly posed, not trying too hard, just the two of them sharing noodles after getting married by Elvis, and sharing a cigarette under the Vegas neon in a rainy day.
That’s what I love most about short elopements. You really don’t need a huge timeline to make the day feel meaningful. Sometimes all you need is a chapel, an outfit that feels like you, a little snack stop, and space to make the photos personal.
If you’re planning a Little White Chapel elopement and want photos that feel candid, cinematic, playful, and a little different, your day doesn’t have to follow any rules. It can be quick. It can be weirdly romantic. It can include cup noodles on the sidewalk. And honestly, that might be the best part.
