Cowboy Boots, Flowers, Feathers, and Elvis: A Neon Museum Wedding Story captured on film
This spring, I had the joy of photographing T&K’s wedding at the iconic Neon Museum in Las Vegas. They traveled all the way from Texas with their family and friends, and I have to say, this group came ready to celebrate in style. Cowboy hats, boots, colorful outfits, flowers, and feathers set the perfect tone for a vibrant desert wedding day. Even the grandma stole the show, rocking a purple floral dress, feathers draped around her shoulders, and just the slightest peekaboo of her tattoo. Stylish clearly runs in the family.
This couple chose to say their vows under the famous Lucky Lady sign in the north gallery of the Neon Museum, with none other than Elvis as their officiant. It was the perfect blend of fun and nostalgia, just as a Las Vegas wedding should be.
As a film-only session, everything was captured on 35mm and 120mm film. I packed two SLRs, a rangefinder medium format camera, and a point & shoot to make sure every moment was documented. One of my favorite parts of the day was that many of their friends and family were photography lovers themselves, bringing out their own cool cameras during the ceremony. Even the groom laughed when he saw me pull out his favorite camera: the legendary Mamiya 7.
The flow of the day was simple yet heartfelt. We started with a sweet first look before moving into the ceremony. After they exchanged vows, they finished the ceremony with a dance. Group photos followed, and then it was time for just the two of them. Even in the blazing Las Vegas sun, they embraced the moment, and the film looked so vivid and vibrant.
From the fashion to the fun, every moment was filled with color and character, making it a true Neon Museum celebration to remember.
